Church – a gathering of people to worship God

The events after the resurrection of the Lord Jesus are recorded in the book of Acts. Acts of the Apostles. It is a description of events that God announced to the prophets centuries in advance. The books describing the events that fulfilled the predictions of the prophets are supplemented by books with an explanation of God's law and history for people who believe that Jesus of Nazareth is God, true man and the Savior of the world. The books are supplemented by other prophecies for the future with a description of the end of the present world and a description of the world to come.

Acts of the Apostles

The first thing to mention is that God called Abraham and his descendants, from whom He made the nation of Israel. Even before Abraham, there were people who believed in the Creator of heaven and earth, to whom God spoke by His Spirit. All of these people had a relationship with God, then a relationship with people, where they freely shared their faith in God and worshipped Him together and encouraged each other in doing God’s will. Then they had relationships with people of other faiths who held to their beliefs. The gathering of people with a desire in their hearts from God to worship God together, to talk about God and His plans is called in Greek ἐκκλεισῐ́ᾱ (ekkleisíā) and in Hebrew קהל” (qahal), in our language a church or a gathering of people called by God.

It can be a meeting of two people or millions of people in one place. External forms such as a building, objects, and the like are not essential, but the state of life and heart of the people who go together to call on God is important. There are even objects in the place of calling on God that offend God. From the Bible we have a description of how people turned to God in a meadow, in a forest, on a hill, in a tent or building, where there were no objects. God does not dwell in temples built by human hands, but in a place where there are humble people who call on Him. The word church – a gathering of people to worship God – is the main theme of the description of events after the departure of Jesus Christ. The church is called a granary-barn, where the harvest of the earth is gathered, and further as the house of God, where people from all nations of the world turn to God. The church is called a bride prepared for the bridegroom – God Jesus.

Until the coming of Jesus Christ, this term was used for the nation of Israel. Since the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the gathering of God's people for all the nations of the world has been. After the flood and the events with Noah, the nations of the world turned away from God and worshiped other gods, who were pretended to be fallen angels from God. They gave people various rules of life that contradict the Creator's rules. The Creator's rules lead people to life, and rules from other sources lead people to death. Keeping the Creator's rules is called piety, respect and love for the Creator. Keeping rules that contradict God's is called idolatry, or serving foreign gods. God opens the door for people from all nations of the world to abandon the traditions of their ancestors based on the worship of evil and embark on a new path of life according to the rules of the Creator of heaven, earth and life. God announced this possibility in advance through the prophets. He announced that He would pour out His Spirit on all people who would turn to Him.

Joel's Prophecy 3:
1 Then I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams and your young men will see visions. 2 And on the male and female slaves I will pour out my Spirit in those days. 3 I will show signs in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. 4 The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. 5 Everyone who calls on his name will be saved, for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has promised. Among the redeemed will be those whom the Lord calls.
