you will not commit adultery

"Thou shalt not commit adultery"

5. Mark 5:18

27 God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

1.Mojžišova 1

24 Therefore a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

1.Mojžišova 2

God created man and woman and brought them into marriage. Marriage is a life-long union. Spouses have rights and responsibilities from God, cooperation, common property, and produce children who continue God’s plan to populate the entire earth. If we live according to His rules of reverence for God and respect for one another, it is possible for the earth to be populated. God will make it happen.

The Biblical Procedure for Entering Marriage:

  1. the introduction of a man and a woman who are free from other commitments
  2. free decision for a life together,
  3. engagement - announcing the desire for a life together in front of an interested public such as relatives, friends
  4. wedding – entering into a marriage contract, by which they commit themselves to live together, build a household, cooperate and raise children despite the circumstances. Marriage is indissoluble before God, God hates divorce and has zero validity before Him. The only case of breaking up a marriage and thus divorce is adultery = marital infidelity, which the guilty party does not want to leave even after the request of the innocent party. Sexual life with a person other than the spouse is designated as fornication – adultery.

If a man is found lying with a married woman, both of them shall die, the man who lay with her and the woman. So you will put away the evil from Israel.

Deuteronomy 22:22

10 “Anyone who commits adultery with a married woman, that is, anyone who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, must be put to death—the adulterer and the adulteress. 11 “If a man has sexual relations with his father’s wife, he has dishonored his father; both of them must be put to death; their blood is their own. 12 “If a man has sexual relations with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. They have committed an abomination. Their blood is their own. 13 “If a man lies with a male as one lies with a woman, it is an abomination; both of them must die. Their blood is their own. 14 “If a man takes a woman and her mother, it is perverseness. They shall burn him and both of them in the fire, so that there is no perverseness among you. 15 “If a man lies with an animal, he must be put to death, and the animal must be killed. 16 If a woman has sexual relations with an animal and they have sexual relations with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal. They shall surely be put to death. They shall bear their bloodguilt. 17 If a man takes his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and has violated her, and she has violated him, it is an abomination. They shall be cut off from their people. He has violated his sister; he shall bear his iniquity. 18 If a man has sexual relations with a woman during her period of impurity, he has violated her nakedness, and she has uncovered her blood, and she has uncovered her blood; both of them shall be cut off from their people. 19 You shall not have sexual relations with your mother’s sister or your father’s sister, for you have violated a close relative. Both of them shall bear their iniquity. 20 If a man has sexual relations with his aunt, he has violated his uncle. Both of them shall bear their iniquity. they shall die childless. 21 If a man takes his brother's wife, it is a defilement; he has uncovered his brother's nakedness. They shall be childless. 22 You shall keep all my statutes and all my judgments, and do them, that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.

Leviticus 20

3 Then the Pharisees came to him, testing him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?” 4 He answered them, “Have you not read that from the beginning he who created them made them male and female? 5 And he said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” 7 They said to him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce and send her away?” 8 Jesus said to them, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of the hardness of your hearts, but from the beginning it has not been so. 9 I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except for the cause of fornication, and marries another, commits adultery.” 10 His disciples said to him, “If the situation of a man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry.” 11 He answered them, “Not everyone can understand this saying, except those to whom it has been given. 12 For there are eunuchs who were born eunuchs, who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let him who can understand this understand.”

Matthew 19

27 You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Matthew 5

Fornication and adultery are similar meanings. For a better understanding, adultery = a strange bed. A person lies in a strange bed with a strange person. A close person is a spouse of the opposite sex, marriage is a union of a man and a woman. When people refer to this value, the root is in the Bible, we do not find a basis for it anywhere else. Therefore, when marriage and family are defended without God, it will be defeated.

Regarding cutting off a hand or gouging out an eye, it is about removing the causes of temptation to commit a crime. A literal interpretation in this case is taken out of context, because nowhere in the Bible is there any mention of such practices in connection with sexual crimes, as they did in our parts in the Middle Ages, for example. It is about removing clothes, films, relationships with people that lead to a crime in the sexual sphere.

The result of violating God's laws is death – separation from God and suffering, but the free gift and for all from God is forgiveness and eternal life by recognizing that He is Perfect and we are evil. By recognizing that we accept the help He offers us and asking for forgiveness of our crimes on the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. After receiving forgiveness, we commit ourselves to obedience to the Creator by teaching and respecting His laws in the new life He offers us.

In Israel, serious crimes were publicly tried by responsible people in society - judges, and people were publicly punished. This was to prevent the entire society of Israel from falling into rebellion and thus under God's judgment. God is Holy - Perfect and dwells in a huge fire of love. Everything in His presence is revealed and evil will burn in His fire.

For us, this means respect for the authorities in individual states, which are entrusted by God with this judgment and punishment. It is up to individual governments and subsequently judges to respect God's laws.

God does not want criminals to perish, but to enter into themselves, to correct themselves and to be able to live through the grace of God. The well-known story of the woman who was caught in adultery, they wanted to stone her according to God's law and brought her to Jesus. He said, "Let the one who is without sin cast the first stone." When she was left alone and everyone left, he said, "Has no one condemned you? Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." God presents himself to us as righteous, who rewards good and punishes evil, but is gracious to the broken. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. God did not abolish the law, he came to fulfill it through the Lord Jesus.

11 Say to them, ‘As I live,’ declares the Lord GOD, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways!

Ezekiel 33

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God's grace is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
